Turkish, Iranian FMs News Conference
ANKARA (PressTV) — Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday during a surprise visit to Ankara, the Turkish Presidency reported. They discussed in particular the fate of Syria and the United States.
Mr. Zarif and Mr. Erdogan met for one hour at the headquarters of the ruling formation in Turkey, Mr. Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party (AKP), against a backdrop of tensions in Syria. The Damascus regime, supported by Tehran and Moscow, wants to launch an offensive on Idleb (northwest), the last great stronghold of the rebels supported by Ankara.
