Syrian Forces Open Escape Corridor in Idlib

IDLIB (Ruptly) – The Syrian government has opened corridors, Monday, in Sarmin, near Saraqib in eastern Idlib, allowing civilians to travel from areas held by Turkish-backed forces to government-controlled territory.
The corridors were opened by the Syrian Arab Army and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, with assistance from Russian forces.It was set to be used on Monday.
Idlib Governor Mohammad Natouf said a fully equipped medical staff and a mobile clinic have been prepared to assist civilians exiting militant occupied areas. He added that a makeshift centre was also created to cater to the humanitarian needs of civilians wishing to go to the Al-Sabeel neighbourhood in Hama, according to reports.
The Russian Ministry of Defence stated:
These checkpoints have been prepared for opening with the assistance of the Russian Centre for the Reconciliation of the Warring Sides due to the increased number of complaints from the population of the areas outside Damascus control regarding the lack of qualified medical assistance and the emergency socio-economic situation created by the stifling U.S. sanctions.
