DAMASCUS (SANA) — Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudah Sabbagh announced the commencement of candidacy for Presidential elections, starting from Monday April 19.
In his speech at the first session of the second extraordinary round of the People’s Assembly, Sabbagh called on those who wish to run to submit their candidacy applications to the Supreme Constitutional Court within a period of 10 days which ends by Wednesday April 28.
Speaker Sabbath said:
The date of presidential elections will be on May 20, 2021 for Syrians resident abroad, while the elections will be set on May 26th for Syrians resident on the Syrian territory.

We are facing the most important constitutional deadline and holding the elections is an honest expression on belonging to the homeland.

I bet one in a hundred that Bashar will win these elections.

Bashar al-Assad may be hated in the West, but he is extremely popular in his country. Without this popularity, it would be impossible for him to stay in power, even with the help of Russia and Iran. Do not be fooled by Western propaganda that aims to put its own puppet in charge of Syria. It should be noted that the puppet is the Islamist. Syrians are the most educated among Arabs; these people prefer progressives like the Asaads (Alawis) to Islamists

The problem with the US is that we have allied ourselves with the Salafists in Arabia (ibn Sauds) who do not want secularists like the Assads. For the fundamentalists, the Assads are not considered Muslims. Otherwise, we could ally with Assad instead of going to war against him. I am sure that someone like Bashar al-Assad, who studied in Britain, prefers the Americans to the Russians.

As we know from the political puppets and their mouthpieces in the controlled corporate media, Syrian President Basher al-Assad is a bloodthirsty monster responsible for the wanton slaughter of . . . (fill in the number) of his own citizens, and he particularly enjoys dropping chemical weapons on women and children despite knowing that this is the one thing that will bring him universal condemnation and ensure a full-scale assault on his country. . . But why? Why is he such a monster? That is the question, and the New York Times offers its own helpful explainer with predictably comic results.

Syria was very important for our Prophet Muhammed (pbh). For muslims it is not acceptable this country be rules by a non muslim. Assad family are not muslim. they are alawit. they say they are muslim shia but this is not true, they are not shia like Iran. they don’t believe in Qur’an, they don’t pray, do ramadan, etc. they worship shaitan in secret.

It’ s precisely for all these reasons, Samir, that Bashar is far preferable to his opponents.
