During the meeting with representatives of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in Kazakhstan meeting President Nazarbayev declared that Kazakh Muslim Spiritual Administration is the only recognized structure of traditional Islam:

Today in our country there are different movements that want to be seen as “real Muslim”. Some young people listen to the preachers who are foreign to us. We will not allow to lead us astray. The only recognized structure of traditional Islam in our country is the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan.

Yerzhan Mayamerov was born on December 16, 1972 in Semipalatinsk (now East Kazakhstan) region. In 2006 he graduated from the Al-Azhar University in Egypt, one of the world’s oldest Muslim religious academic universities. In the period from 2006 to 2008, he continued to receive his knowledge in the Egyptian Muftiate.

On October 10, 2011 upon the recommendation of the Chief Mufti of Kazakhstan Absattar Derbisali Haji, Y. Mayamerov was appointed a representative of the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of Central Asia and Kazakhstan to Semey region.
