ANKARA (TASS) — Two Russian tourists injured in a knife attack in Istanbul on Sunday are under the supervision of medics, while the condition of a third one is not alarming, the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul said on Monday.
On its official Facebook page, the diplomatic mission declared:
The Consulate General applied to the law enforcement agencies with a request to supply detailed information about the incident. According to available information, the suspect in the attack has been detained.

Two injured Russian nationals are under the control of medics with injuries of different degree, the condition of a third national is not alarming. He may be discharged from hospital shortly. The Consulate General continues to closely monitor the situation and the condition of those hospitalized.
Earlier, a security officer from Besiktas neighbourhood told TASS that the incident occurred at 20:20 Moscow time on Sunday. The suspect is a garbage collector who has already been detained for questioning. The motives behind his attack are yet unclear, but Turkish media outlets say that he may be mentally unstable.
