Russia to Lift Ban on Kazakhstan’s imports of US Poultry
ASTANA (Interfax-Kazakhstan) — Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) is ready to consider lifting restrictions on Kazakh imports of poultry meat from the United States transiting through Russia, provided that these food products are consumed exclusively in Kazakhstan.
Since last November, Russia is once again blocking the movement of US chicken meat to Kazakhstan over concerns about bird flu.
However, authorities in Astana have rejected Moscow’s explanation for this banning.
