LONDON (BBC News) — Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, has died aged 99, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The prince married Princess Elizabeth in 1947, five years before she became Queen, and was the longest-serving royal consort in British history. A statement from Buckingham Palace said:

It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. "His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.

His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, lived most of his long life in the public eye. Born a European prince, he became the husband and vital support to one of the most famous women in the world. In the process he carved a leading role of his own in Britain and the world.

  • They asked either him or William not sure as to why they hated Russia so much. He answered, how would you feel if they killed half of your family (Romanovs)

  • “In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation,” The Telegraph quoted Philip saying at the time.

  • It’s unfortunate that the reunion between Prince Philip and Diana is not broadcast, it could be a memorable one

  • Damn, if he had lasted 2 more months, he would be 100 years old... RIP your Highness.

  • A great inspiration for men like me who like fun and little work!

  • we are all going to die one day, it is sure. what is cynical about preparing a biography about someone who is aging?

  • Great news, one less sucker. Now it’s the old babe’s turn.

  • Honestly, do you know who you are talking about?! By insulting Her Majesty the Queen, you are really insulting all of her 135 million subjects... Besides, her husband has just died: do you know something like respect? (for example, I have many words that come to my mind to qualify you but I didn’t say it because I am polite and educated). Don’t get me wrong: I don’t despise you, I pity you. Your life is so miserable that you need to post these kinds of comments to feel like you exist...(and I’m partly responsible for that because by taking the time to answer you, I’m giving you interest, something you don’t even deserve)

  • when my father passed away, it was only a coincidence that the neighbors knew about it ..... and yet they were both human beings

  • why not tell us that he was also a nazi?

  • A very sad news. May the almighty God keep his soul in peace, in Jesus name I pray.

  • Gosh we were talking about him yesterday with my 94 year old uncle and 87 year old aunt (69 years married)...🙏

  • From Wikipedia:

Philip was born into the Greek and Danish royal families. He was born in Greece, but his family was exiled from the country when he was eighteen months old. After being educated in France, Germany and the United Kingdom, he joined the British Royal Navy in 1939, aged 18. From July 1939, he began corresponding with the then thirteen-year-old Princess Elizabeth, whom he had first met in 1934. During the Second World War he served with distinction in the Mediterranean and Pacific Fleets.

  • What’s the idea behind forcing democracy all over the world while still keeping monarchy.

  • Pls dont RIP for whom supported racism against indians and chineese

  • In April 2009, Philip became the longest-serving British royal consort. He became the oldest-ever male British royal in February 2013, and the third-longest-lived member of the British royal family (following Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother) in April 2019. Personally, he was not enthused about living an extremely long life, remarking in a 2000 interview (when he was 79) that he could not "imagine anything worse" and had "no desire whatsoever" to become a centenarian, saying "bits of me are falling off already".

  • Over 70 years of marriage and still in love. How many other couples can say the same?

  • Didn’t he just get the jab? SSsshhhhhhh

  • It has been announced that there will be 30 days of celebration, at the passing of a useless, parasitic, demonic peodophile. Dignitaries from around the world, as selected by the people, will each donate a bottle of piss to throw on the grave. They have the option of donating shit too.

  • Since Britain is in lockdown, only 5 people will be allowed for funeral.

  • After her accession to the throne, the Queen also announced that the Duke was to have "place, pre-eminence and precedence" next to her "on all occasions and in all meetings, except where otherwise provided by Act of Parliament". This meant the Duke took precedence over his son, the Prince of Wales, except, officially, in the British parliament. In fact, however, he attended Parliament only when escorting the Queen for the annual State Opening of Parliament, where he walked and sat beside her.

  • These people have huge malevolence towards the humanity that gave them everything they have. Disgusting individuals.

  • Prince Philip who had 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, talked about "voluntary family limitation" and said this in 1988:

"In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation."

  • PROOF! CORONAVIRUS IS CAUSED BY PRINCE PHILIP, BILL GATES, OPRAH, & OTHER BILLIONAIRES!

  • LOL, Imagine being almost 100 & still being a Prince. Hark! Behold, peasants, make way for the Duke of Cuckenburgh, first of his name & warden of reptiles, protector of the ’dreno & champion of "pizza," Philip De Crepit of House Draco

  • the legacy he leaves in my mind is he is no great father just look at andrews behavior.

  • This guy descended from so many royal families, even Charlamagne. Prince Philip was the only son of Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark and Princess Alice of Battenberg. Member of the House of Glücksburg, the ruling house of Denmark, he was a prince of both Greece and Denmark by virtue of his patrilineal descent from George I of Greece and Christian IX of Denmark, and he was from birth in the line of succession to both thrones.

  • Maybe. Prince Philip MAY be a victim of side effects from his Corona vaccination in January. And the queen was also vaccinated against the Corona in January....

  • I’m curious how the majority of the people in UK feel concerning the monarchy? I mean, are you taxed a lot to keep them in a great castle, eating the best food because they have "royal blood"? I’ve never been, but would love to know how that works.

  • I don’t know if he was good or bad, it doesn’t matter, he represented British colonialism and therefore the Christian world against Islam. The Muslims, the Mughals, ruled India and it was because of the British that they lost power. And the result? Hindu wannabes stole India from us.

  • what do you think you are now, a Mughal prince, Arangzeb?! did you take your lithium capsules?

  • in Iran, people hates the English. we believe every think is their fault. this is often true but some times its exagerated. I just think that the shah had about the same age and could have lived as long, but the poor man has gone so young (60 I think) and left us father-less since.

  • Prince Philip seems like a decent guy, I must say. The story he was linked to Epstein and paedophiles is a bit upsetting I must say.
