PKK Strongholds in Iraq Targeted by Turkish Jets
ANKARA (Rudaw via Ruptly) — According to the Turkish Ministry of Defence, Turkish warplanes struck 81 suspected Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) targets in an operation code-named Operation Claw-Eagle, in retaliation to increased attacks on Turkish military bases.
The cross-border operation was condemned by Iraq’s Joint Operations Command.
Smoke was rising from the northern side of the Sinjar Mountain in northern Iraq in the purported aftermath of an attack by Turkish fighter jets on PKK strongholds in the region on Monday.
