Pakistan to Ground 262 Pilots with “Dubious” Credentials
DOHA (Al Jazeera) — Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has grounded a third of its pilots after an investigation found they may have cheated to get their licences.
The pilots in the line of fire included 141 from Pakistan International Airlines, 9 from Air Blue and 10 from Serene Airline. The rest of the 262 belong to flying clubs or chartered plane services. An inquiry into a PIA crash that killed 97 people last month has pointed to pilots not following procedures.
