NATO’s Agile Spirit 2019 Drills Conclude in Akhaltsikhe
TBLISI (Ruptly) — Joint NATO-Georgia military exercise Agile Spirit 2019 finished at the Orholo training area in Akhaltsikhe on Friday. The Agile Spirit drills have been held annually from 2011.
During the two week drills, which encompassed participants from 14 countries, around 3,000 troops took part in different exercises aimed at improving the armed forces’ ability to operate in conjunction with each other.
At the closing ceremony, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze praised the joint drills, saying that “Such exercises make Georgia’s NATO membership even more realistic.”
