Missile Drills in Centre 2019 Military Exercise
MOSCOW (Ruptly) — Iskander-M mobile short-range ballistic missile systems took part in the Centre 2019 exercises at the Sary Shagan testing range, as shown by footage released by Russia’s Defence Ministry on Thursday.
Around 128,000 troops from eight countries are taking part at the Centre 2019 drills, which run from 16 to 21 September in 17 different locations. In addition to Russia, seven other nations participate in the exercises: China, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The drills are aimed at developing and strengthening military cooperation between Russia and its allies.
According to the Russian ministry of defence, the systems launched missiles which reached their targets “hundreds of kilometres away” from the launch position.
Some 20,000 pieces of military equipment and 600 aircraft will also take part in the multi-nation training.
