ISLAMABAD (Ruptly) — Thousands of people rallied in Khushab on Sunday, to demand the release of incarcerated former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. His daughter, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was also present at the rally.

The former Prime Minister and his daughter were convicted last year in a corruption case over their London properties for ten and seven years respectively. Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s sentence was later suspended.

Addressing the crowd from an elevated platform, Maryam Nawaz Sharif said: “Imran Khan has not only stolen your vote but also has taken your bread. He has not only stolen your vote but your bread too”, adding “If you ask for your vote to be respected, and you don’t get it, then you will have to take it by force.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif also claimed that one of the judges in her father’s trial contemplated suicide due to pressure. “And the judge said he was so much pressured that once he pondered suicide”, she claimed.
