ALMATY (KTZ press service) — A first container train from China to Kyrgyzstan transited through the Kazakh border railway station of Altynko and the dry port KTZE Khorgos Gateway. This historic train is routed through Kazakhstan by KTZ Express JSC, a subsidiary of the national carrier KTZ NC JSC.
The train, made up of 46 containers, carries a general cargo of around 800 tonnes from the Chinese Urumqi station, and will be delivered within 4 days to the Kyrgyz station in Alamedin.
According to A. Berekbulov, Deputy General Manager of KTZE-Yuzhny, the development of international transport corridors is one of the priority tasks of KTZ Express. The new service they organise would broaden the scope of their routes and enable their customers to reduce logistics costs. Berekbulov assures that on this new route, his company has reached the optimal speed parameter due to the lack of cargo handling along the way. In the future, the company states that it intends to increase the flow of containers on this route and to organise regular container train runs.
