NUR-SULTAN / ex ASTANA (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – Kazakhstan’s national company KazMunayGas (KMG) intends to build a new gas processing plant in the town of Zhanaozen and dropped plans to modernize the old Kazakh Gas Processing Plant, the company press office has told Interfax-Kazakhstan.
Zhanaozen or Janaozen (formerly Novy Uzen in Soviet era), is a city in the Mangystau Region located south-east of the city of Aktau. The town of Zhanaozen was founded in 1964, after the opening of an oil field in Uzen.
