NUR-SULTAN / EX ASTANA (Kazakhstan Pravda) — Kazakhstan plans to strengthen liability in the event of theft and burglary as announced by Deputy Prosecutor General Marat Akhmetzhanov at a press conference about the Code of Criminal Procedure (CCS).
Akhmetzhanov said that a bill has been prepared to further improve the Criminal Code and the CCS. These include amendments to strengthen liability for certain types of serious intentional and particularly severe offences:
Liability for theft and burglary committed when entering a room or vehicle increases. These crimes are considered serious. The law will no longer exempt criminals from criminal liability in compensation for harm and reconciliation.
According to him, in order to strengthen zero tolerance for crimes, a ban on reconciliation is introduced even in the moderate category.
"Repeated embezzlement is also transferred to the category of serious crimes, reconciliation is excluded too," Akhmetzhanov added.

He noted that the bill introduces a separate liability for cattle theft:
It envisages up to 10 years of imprisonment. A ban on reconciliation will be introduced in case of committing cattle theft with illegal entry into private territory, in a group of persons by prior conspiracy, on a large scale, also if this happened more than once.
