ASTANA (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – During the first four month of 2017, Kazakhstan exported 21.4% more manufactured goods than the same period in 2016. In 2016, Kazakh manufactured goods exports was 8.5% down.
Kazakhstan is the 51st largest export economy in the world and the 48th most complex economy according to the Economic Complexity Index (ECI). In 2015, Kazakhstan exported $40.9 bln while importing only $31.7 blnB, resulting in a positive trade balance of $9.2 bln.
However, the top exports of Kazakhstan are raw materials and commodities such as crude petroleum ($19.8 bln), refined copper ($2.54 bln), petroleum gas ($2.5 bln), radioactive chemicals ($2.42 bln) and ferroalloys ($1.4 bln).
The top export destinations of Kazakhstan are China ($5.53 bln), Russia ($4.66 bln), the Netherlands ($3.55 bln), France ($3.01 bln) and Italy ($2.93 bln).
