NUR-SULTAN / ex ASTANA (Akorda press service) — The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed the Decree On the appointment of A. Tsoi to the post of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Earlier by the decree of the Head of State, Yelzhan Birtanov was relieved of his post as Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Birtanov headed the Ministry of Health from January 2017. Prior to that, from November 2015 to January 2017, he was Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development, and from April 2014 to November 2015, he led the Center for Supporting Public-Private Partnership Projects.

From February 2019 to June 22, 2020, Birtanov directed the Medical Centre for the Management of Presidential Affairs, before becoming Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development, Deputy Minister of Health. On 22 June, he was appointed First Deputy Minister of Health.
