Bishkek (24.kg news agency) – The representatives of Kazakh fund “Samruk-Kazyna” showed their interest to Kyrgyztelecom, OJSC, but they think the modernization of the airport in Tamchy is an unprofitable project, Deputy Managing Director Aidan Karibzhanov stated at the meeting with the Minister of Economic Regulations of the Kyrgyz Republic Uchkunbek Tashbaev.

During the meeting the representatives of Ministry of State Property presented a range of investment projects to the delegation. They also suggested to participate in open tender for sale of 51% of KyrgyzMobile Company, state mobile operator stocks. But Kazakh investors noted that they see Kazakh capital participation in Kyrgyztelecom as the most acceptable because they have great experience in the development of Kazakhtelecom, their own national telecoms operator.

In relation to the suggestion modernizing the airport in Tamchy village of Issyk-Kul province that require $80 million, Aidan Karibzhanov noted that such kind of business was traditionally disadvantageous. “It is necessary to speak about airport modernization in the context of economical development of the whole region. This is a creation of infrastructure for investments and tourists attraction and creation of the conditions for gambling industry,” he said.
