Kuwait City (AFP) — Kuwait on Sunday received eight tons of documents and other items taken during Saddam Hussein’s 1990 invasion, officials said.
Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Nasser al-Hain said the shipment contained archives from Kuwait University, the Ministry of Information and other institutions. This is the third shipment Kuwait has received since 2019, officials from both countries said.
Qahtan al-Janabi of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said his country had previously been given a list of missing items from Kuwait and that "on that basis, the handover is taking place."
