Iran: Several Boats in Flames in Jask Port

Sunday 26 January 2020

TEHRAN (YJC via Ruptly) — A fire broke out aboard several cargo vessels and fishing boats in the port city of Bandar-e-Jask, Hormozgan Province, Sunday. No casualties have been reported so far while the cause of the incident is unknown.

The fire reportedly started on a fibreglass fishing boat, while strong winds created ideal conditions for the flames to spread to the other three vessels.

According to local reports, the cause of the fire is still uncertain, and an investigation is underway. After the first reports of the fire, other boats and vessels were transported from the area of the incident and moved to a safe zone.
