Iran Confirms Explosion at Natanz Nuclear Facility
Keywords: Iran, Iranian Nuclear Crisis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility was hit by an explosion, Iranian Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) Spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said on Monday.
The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran dismissed reports that Sunday’s incident at Natanz facility has set back the country’s nuclear activities by 9 months, saying the damages caused by the “act of sabotage” will be repaired and the replacements will outperform by 50%.
Natanz is a hardened Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP) covering 100,000 m² that is built 8 meters underground and protected by a concrete wall 2.5 m thick, itself protected by another concrete wall. It is located near Natanz, the capital city of Natanz County, Isfahan (Ispahan) Province. In July 2020, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran released photos of a building, presumed to be a centrifuge assembly facility, after a recent explosion. An unnamed Middle Eastern intelligence official later claimed that damage to the facility was caused by an explosive device.
In remarks on the sidelines of inauguration of Iran Quantum Technologies Centre on Monday, Ali Akbar Salehi said that while media reports claim that the recent incident in Natanz enrichment facility has set back Iran’s nuclear activities by 9 months, “a significant part of [what was damaged by] the enemy’s acts of sabotage will be restored and this convoy [Iran’s nuclear program] will not come to a halt.”
Describing the incident as an act of sabotage, Salehi said the Iranian security services have found clues, are dealing with the case vigorously, and will release more information at the appropriate time. He emphasized that enrichment activities in Natanz have not been suspended and are in progress strongly, although a number of the centrifuge machines that have gone off-grid have to be revised.
Salehi said while a hostile plot had damaged a modern shop for the assembly of centrifuge machines in Natanz in July 2020, the AEOI has fixed and operated that shop. “Moreover, we are building multiple advanced shops deep inside the mountains”, he added.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in turn, pointed to Israel’s involvement in the accident. The New York Times wrote that “American and Israeli intelligence officials said there had been an Israeli role.”
The AEOI said on Sunday that the accident happened in part of the electricity network of Ahmadi Roshan nuclear enrichment facility, but it has not resulted in any casualties or contamination.

By insisting that it was sabotage, the Iranians are unwittingly admitting their extreme vulnerability. How could a saboteur break into such a well-protected facility? If not someone who works inside. But these people are selected very severely and monitored constantly (even their private lives). This is a sign that there are many defection.

Mossad did it. Iran is the only country in the world to resist to Israel. Israel don’t like our courage. they want us obey to them but we refuse.

"Israel don’t like our courage"
You are nothing but a bunch of cowards who instead of taking care of your people, you oppress them and hide behind your nuclear bomb. A bomb that you will never have, Israel will never let that happen.

Iran was Israel best neighbor for 1000s years and front line against Pakistan but after 1979 Khomeini come to power everything changed 360 degrees

1000s years?!!! Why not billions years. Israel exists since 1947 that’s not even 100 years. and Israel is not a neighbor of Iran. go back to school

Do not associate the Islamic regime in Iran with the Iranian people. The people want welfare, freedom and hope in their future. Iranians are not interested in nuclear bombs, they can’t eat them. They have no anti-Israeli feelings, in fact they are mainly anti-Arab, and more and more anti-Chinese.

The world forbids Muslims to possess nuclear weapons. Apart from Pakistan, no Muslim country has nuclear weapons. The Pakistani bomb is a farce since it is entirely in the hands of the US military, post 9/11. Christians have the lion’s share. The US, Russia, the UK, France. The other Christian nations have the technology and can make their bomb at will. Even Switzerland. The Hindus have their bomb. The Chinese and Koreans (Buddhists, Taoists, whatever) have their bomb. The Jews have their bomb. But Muslims are considered mentally retarded. They are not allowed to defend themselves. They must be "protected" by non-Muslims.
So, as a Muslim, I say that Iran must develop its nuclear arsenal. It is a duty, not a fantasy.

My boyfriend told me he calls his dick "little ISIS"...
My boyfriend told me he calls his dick "little ISIS" because it’s like a nuclear bomb in his pants.
I told him he should call it "little Iran" because that nuclear bomb is dysfunctional.

I prefer this fanatic "Dr." Tabatabe to Nader. He is sincere and represents the reality of the Iranian mentality. One should not be fooled by the westernized appearance of Iranians, it is part of their Shiite tradition to hide their beliefs. 83% of Iranians think exactly like our Dr., but claim the opposite.

Dear Dr. Tabatabee,
I have a high esteem for you and I read all your comments with enthusiasm. I have said this before. But I must confess that this present comment makes me sad. Why do you call the Pakistani bomb a farce? You and all our muslim brothers should be proud of this bomb. Without it, India would have invaded Afghanistan, Iran and other muslim countries. Pakistan is a shield for the muslims against that ignominious stone-worshipping Hindus.

whole Pakistan is a farce not just their "bomb".
