TEHRAN (Ruptly) — The southern Iranian port city of Chabahar has been secured, Wednesday, after a car bomb that struck near police headquarters killed at least two people and injured several others.
According to an official source from Chabahar’s governor’s office, a suicide bomber placed explosives inside a Nissan truck and blew himself up after being stopped outside the police headquarters.
“Thank God there is no specific problem and complete security has been established in the city. There are some rumours saying that the number of martyrs are high, however, it is a lie. We have only these two martyrs in this suicide attack”, said Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Mohammad Pakpour.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of writing.
