DUBAI (Reuters) — Yemen’s Houthi movement said on Wednesday it shot down an F-15 warplane of the Saudi-led coalition near the border with Saudi Arabia.

A Royal Saudi Air Force F-15 Eagle fighter aircraft approaches a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 1700^th Air Refueling Squadron Provisional for refuelling during Operation Desert Shield.

The group’s military spokesman Twitted:

Our air defence systems have intercepted an F-15 fighter jet belonging to the countries of aggression in Saada province.

There was no immediate confirmation from the coalition that has been battling the group for more than four years.

Royal Saudi Air Force had 170 F-15 Eagle fighters in operation as of November 2017.
