Food Corporation Reports 39% Decline in Grain Exports in Q1 2019

NUR-SULTAN / ex ASTANA (Interfax-Kazakhstan) — Food Contract Corporation in January-March 2019 exported over 48,500 tonnes of grain, the national company reported on Friday.

According to the results of its activities in the first quarter of 2019, Food Contract Corporation exported more than 48500 tonnes of cereals to, among others, the following countries:

  • Azerbaijan: 34,700 tonnes of wheat;
  • Turkmenistan: 8,600 tons of wheat;
  • Georgia: 3,300 tonnes of wheat;
  • Iran: 1,900 tons of barley.

For the same period, the acceptance volume of cereals and oilseeds at Astyk Koymalary LLP (a subsidiary of Food Contract Corporation) was 31,600 (31,100 tonnes of cereals and about 500 tonnes of oilseeds). In addition, Ak Biday-Terminal JSC (a subsidiary of NK Prodkorporatsiya JSC) transited through a grain terminal located in the port of Aktau for 273,000 tonnes of grain.
