Flags Burn against UAE Presence in Yemen
TAIZZ (Ruptly) — Hundreds of people took to the streets of Taizz to protest against the UAE’s presence in Yemen on Friday. Demonstrators can be seen marching through the streets of Taizz with banners, chanting slogans, and setting UAE flags on fire.
The protest comes after the UAE-backed forces of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) regained control of the Yemeni port city of Aden, the capital of the Saudi-backed government of President Abd-Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
“UAE are killing us on all fronts […] it strikes the citizens and everything, they say that it was by mistake, the Coalition is ignoring that. Saudi Arabia is behind it, Saudi Arabia is the cover, the Kingdom is a cover it is not a sisterly [country] doing this deed”, said one demonstrator.
“The massive demonstration today condemns the brutal massacre committed by UAE micro state, which remained for 4 years on our lands in Aden, it spins conspiracies against unity and Yemeni legitimacy”, another demonstrator added.
