BUSSELS (EU press service) — President Tusk will travel to Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from Wednesday 29 May to Sunday 2 June. The European Union has just launched its new EU-Central Asia Strategy; President Tusk’s trip is a further expression of the EU’s commitment to stronger partnerships with the region and the individual countries.
During his visit, President Tusk will meet President Emomali Rahmon in Tajikistan, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and First President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Kazakhstan, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Uzbekistan.
Beyond regional and bilateral cooperation, climate change, protection of the environment and border management as well as regional security will also feature high on the agenda.
