ALMATY (KazInform) — An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the MPV scale has been recorded south of Almaty city today, Kazinform reports.

The epicentre of the quake was located in the territory of China, 283 km south of Almaty city. It hit at the depth of 10 km at 5:50 PM Almaty time.

Almaty is surrounded by a range of epicentre zones of potential powerful earthquakes.
