BRUXELLES (EU press service) — The President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, will travel to Kazakhstan as part of his tour of Central Asia.
Donald Tusk will visit Central Asia. Tusk will visit Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan from May 29 to June 2. The European Union has just published its new EU Strategy for Central Asia. The President’s visit to Tusk is another expression of the EU’s determination to strengthen partnerships with the region and countries.
According to EU, during his visit, Mr. Tusk will meet with President Emomali Rahmon in Tajikistan, President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev and the first Nursultan Nazarbayev in Kazakhstan and President Shavkat Mirzieev in Uzbekistan.
In addition to regional and bilateral cooperation, issues of climate change, environmental protection and border management, as well as regional security, will also be priorities.
