TEHRAN — 153 tons of meat were exported to Iran from the Astrakhan region, Russia, which is an increase of nearly 400% compared to last year (39 tons).
During the meeting with the head of the municipality Yakov Fenkov, the governor of the Astrakhan region Alexander Zhilkin said that the main site for the implementation of this work in the region is the Liman district.
In the first half of 2018, Liman livestock producers increased the processing of their products almost 4-fold — from 120 to 500 tons.
According to Fenkov, “the export of halal meat to Iran is a serious share in these volumes.”
Alexander Zhilkin expressed his satisfaction with the region’s work in this area:
The dynamics of cooperation with Iran in this direction in our region is not bad: for the first half of 2018, 153 tons of mutton were sent to the Caspian neighbours, whereas for the whole of last year it was only 39 tons.
