IPSALA (Ruptly) — Presidents of Turkey and Azerbaijan held a ceremony to mark the completion of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) in the Turkish town of Ipsala in Edirne province on Saturday.

The 1,841 km long TANAP project is the longest in a series of pipelines that will carry natural gas from Shah Deniz II field in Azerbaijan to European consumers.

“The name of this solidarity is peace. Most and foremost, this project is the symbol of the rooted friendship between our countries. TANAP has reached this level by the virtue of the trustful relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan”, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
