ASTANA (Government press service) — China plans to invest $50 mln in a manganese production plant in the Karaganda region, reports the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Investment and Development.
According to the communiqué, within the framework of the agreement signed between the Government of Kazakhstan and China on strengthening cooperation, Horgos Xingbang Trading Co. is discussing a project to build an electrolytic manganese production plant in the Karaganda region. The plant’s capacity will be 60,000 tonnes per year. Chinese investments are estimated to exceed $50 mln.
It should be noted that this type of high value-added product is innovative for Kazakhstan.
