MOSCOW (TASS) – According to the website Invest in Dubai, Russia, France and the UK topped the list of countries whose residents opened companies most frequently in Dubai in 2021. In total, 5,700 companies were opened in Dubai since the beginning of the year.

In particular, 90% of investments in companies in Dubai were made by immigrants from 10 countries: UK, Russia, France, Jordan, Egypt, India, Pakistan and the Philippines. These investments created 10,000 jobs in the city.

Most of all, foreigners invested in companies that provide services in such areas as project management, marketing, as well as companies for tailoring, repair and maintenance of premises.

In September 2020, Russia and the UAE resumed flights, which were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the first quarter of this year, Russia entered the top five countries whose residents most often travelled through the Dubai airport. In the first quarter, 196,000 Russians visited Dubai airport. It includes those who came to spend holidays in Dubai and also change flight in this airport.

  • It’s true, more and more Russians here. Seems as many as 10,000 Russian expatriates and overall above 55,000 Russian speakers from CIS countries live throughout the UAE, with the majority having made Dubai and Northern Emirates their home.

  • The Persian Gulf is a backyard for Russia. For a long time, the region was cut off from us because Iran was occupied by US forces (before the Iranian revolution). Now, thanks to the independent regime in Tehran, we have better access to the Gulf.

  • Not long ago, iranians were in the top the list. Now, because of american sanctions, they don’t let us to go to Dubai. But Dubai became Dubai with the money of iranians.

  • Iranians have become so miserable that a city like Dubai far exceeds Tehran in terms of international business. Without the mullahs in power, all international companies would have set up their regional headquarters in Tehran.
