TEHRAN (Ruptly) — Members of the Armenian community living in Tehran gathered at the St Sarkis Cathedral to mark the 106th anniversary of the Armenian genocide, on Saturday.

Community leaders and clergy members held a memorial service where participants left red and white cloves on a memorial monument.

Arnik Babakhanian, one of the attendees, said he wished the Turkish government, and the rest of the world, would recognise the genocide happened.

Arnik Babakhanian, participant says in Persian:

My message to the world, especially the Turkish government and people, will be to admit the genocide, as the German people has. They should accept the genocide and end this genocide which is being repeated in Karabakh, and if it is not stopped, we may witness other genocides in the world.
