PAVLODAR (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – Pavlodar Civil-Entrepreneurial Corporation (CEC) announces plans to build a 50-MW wind power plant 100 km from Ekibastuz city.
“The project will be implemented jointly with foreign partners and total 15 bln tenge ($150 mln),” said CEO of Pavlodar CEC Almas Madiyev at a meeting of the Coordination Council on Forced Industrial-Innovative Development. “We are negotiating the equipment issues with Chinese partners. We have signed a memorandum on a long-term lease up to 8-10 years at 5%-7% per annum,” he stated.
The payback period is set at 10 years, he added.
Madiyev noted that the average wind speed in the area is 7.5 m/s, “which is not the highest in the country, but sufficient to ensure the payback of funds within the specified term.”
