BISHKEK (24.kg) – “The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan is not in a position to meet the tasks set”, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov szid today at a meeting of Parliament.

According to him, there is not a single full-fledged bank in the regions. Banking services are expected to emerge with the development of electronic payments and mobile banking services. However, “The National Bank has fallen behind in this task. If the work is not activated and there are no concrete results in the near future, we will talk in a different way”, said Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

He added that the National Bank has another task: to provide incentives to commercial banks to finance regional projects. “If commercial banks each finance at least one major project, it will then be possible to implement more than 25 projects”, the head of state said.
