Kyrgyzstan to Regulate Religious Schools

BISHKEK (Al Jazeera) — Kyrgyzstan wants to change the way religious schools operate. It plans to introduce laws to regulate studies, in an effort to increase state control over religious schools (madrassa).

Meanwhile, some say the move does not cater to the majority-Muslim population. Al Jazeera”s Hoda Abdel Hamid reports from Bishkek:
