BISHKEK (24.kg) — Kyrgyzstan’s President Sooronbai Jeenbekov plans to visit France, as announced today at a press conference.

According to Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Chingiz Aidarbekov, during negotiations with the French State Secretary to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, the prospects for intensifying bilateral relations and cooperation in a multilateral framework were discussed:
We underlined the dynamic and progressive development of relations between Kyrgyzstan and France. Today, we cooperate in many areas — political-diplomatic, cultural-humanitarian and commercial-economic. French companies are successfully operating in Kyrgyzstan, carrying out projects and participating in tenders in the electricity sector. We welcome the increase in the number of investments from France to the Kyrgyz Republic. In addition, we discussed how deepening trade and economic relations, the use of the Kyrgyz Republic’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union and the special status the European Union is granting to the Kyrgyz Republic. We noted the dynamic growth of Kyrgyz Republic’s trade with European countries after receiving the status. We also discussed the preparation of the planned visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to France. Its date will be discussed through diplomatic channels.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan stressed the need to focus on the content of Sooronbai Jeenbekov’s visit. He added that, following the President’s instructions, the question of opening a Kyrgyzstan embassy in Paris is under consideration.
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne acknowledged that the negotiations had been successful and France was ready to support and develop cooperation with the Kyrgyz Republic in all areas:
