BISHKEK (24.kg) — Citizens of Kyrgyzstan are allowed to work as drivers in Russia with their rights. The Russian State Duma approved the amendments to the law, Russian media reported.

The new requirements for the replacement of driving licenses “do not apply to citizens of Kyrgyzstan, as well as citizens of states whose legislation fixes the use of the Russian language as official, carrying out entrepreneurial and labour activity in the territory of the Russian Federation, directly related to the management of vehicles.” That is, the rule do not apply to citizens of Belarus.

Recall, on June 1 of this year, the requirement to prohibit the admission to the management of vehicles on the basis of foreign national or international driving permits in the implementation of entrepreneurial and labour activities directly related to the management of vehicles entered into force.

The issue was at the highest level. During his working visit to Russia, Almazbek Atambayev discussed the problem first with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and then with the Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev. The latter promised to solve the problem.
