BISHKEK (24.kg) — At a parliament meeting today Deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev proposed to introduce a tax on Google in Kyrgyzstan.

Ruslan Kazakbaev

According to him, many companies pay thousands of dollars for advertising of their products on social networks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. He said:

For example, every university pays $500 to Facebook a month. If universities pay so much, then one can guess how much commercial companies pay. Experts say that we lose from 500 mln to 1 bln soms because of the absence of a relevant law. Pages of all the companies are on all these resources (Facebook, Instagram), and they transfer payments through a bank, and these Internet resources pay taxes in their countries. We can adopt the experience of Russia on the tax on Facebook.

He added that the introduction of such a tax would not affect the cost of services.
