BISHKEK (Satrapia) — The General Staff of the Kyrgyz Armed Forces denies that Kyrgyz helicopters are in Somalia and participate in combat operations there.
Deputy Kanybek Imanaliev stated yesterday at a meeting of the Parliament that the helicopters, provided to Kyrgyzstan as technical assistance by Russia, were in Africa.
However, according to the Kyrgyz General Staff, not a single helicopter left the country, the entire fleet is located at permanent deployment airfields for planned work to ensure the republic’s defence capability.
The Prime Minister Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev promised to take actions.
