BISHKEK (24.kg) — The Chairman of the Interbank Processing Center Ulan Zhamalidinov told reporters it is planned to integrate in 2019 the national payment card Elcard with the Russian MIR card.

According to him, within the framework of the joint project, it will be possible to transfer funds from Elcard card to MIR card. In addition, as part of a joint project on creation of a single payment system of the Eurasian Economic Union, a special cobaging card will be issued. This means that it can be used as a national one, and can be used to pay with it in Russia.

“The project is considering the possibility of integration with other payment systems of EEU countries. Then our card can also be used there”, stressed Ulan Zhamalidinov.
