BISHKEK (KirTAG) — The term of detention of Asylbeku Asylbek uulu, a former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan was prolonged. He is detained during special operation by Kazakhstan siloviki.
“As for Damirbek Asylbek uulu, the court’s sanction was extended until August 15”, the press service of the Almaty city court said.
On February 15-16, Kazakhstan siloviki conducted a large-scale simultaneous special operation in Almaty, Zhambyl, South-Kazakhstan oblasts and Almaty to prevent illegal activities in the near-customs sphere, as well as to strengthen counteraction to organized criminal groups engaged in smuggling activities in the border areas of the country. As a result, 29 suspects were detained. “Among the detainees are officials of customs and law enforcement agencies, brokers, mediators, representatives of criminals, as well as two Kyrgyz citizens. Investigative and operational activities are continuing”, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported earlier.
On February 18, it was reported that three Kyrgyz citizens were detained during a special operation of Kazakh security agencies: Chyngyz Abakirov, U. Muradilov and D. Asylbek uulu. With regard to all detainees, including citizens of Kazakhstan, the Almaty court ruled that they had been arrested. All are detained for a period of 2 months, the duration of the investigation.
D. Asylbek uulu is an ex-deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan, whom the CEC of the KR early terminated his mandate on April 16. It is known that earlier he worked with detainees Ch. Abakirov and U. Muradilov in Alfa Telecom.
