Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC Sets New Tariffs for Natural Gas

BISHKEK (24.kg news agency) – Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC set new tariffs for natural gas in April 2015. The tariff for the population is set to 14.67 soms/m³ and 17.94 soms for industrial enterprises, commercial structures and budgetary organizations including. The price includes VAT and sales tax.

It is reported that in accordance with the orders of the State Agency for Regulation of Energy under the Government of April 1, On the tariffs for natural gas for the population and On the tariffs for natural gas for industrial enterprises, commercial structures and budgetary organizations, Gazprom Kyrgyzstan has to carry out monthly recalculation of tariffs at the official rate of KGS/USD set by the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic on the 1st day of each month.

“The increase in tariffs compared to the previous month is 0.43 soms for population and 0.86 for industrial enterprises, commercial structures and budgetary organizations is connected with the growth of the official dollar exchange rate”, a statement said.

In May 2003 Gazprom and the Kyrgyz Republic Government entered into the long-term Agreement of Cooperation in the gas industry for a period of 25 years. The Agreement provides for:

  • exploration, development and operation of hydrocarbon fields in the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • retrofitting, construction and operation of gas trunk lines and other gas infrastructure facilities in the Kyrgyz Republic;
  • gas transmission and supply as part of joint projects.

Recently, the General Gas-Supply Plan of the Kyrgyz Republic up to 2030 developed by Gazprom was reviewed. The document calls for large-scale expansion and modernisation of gas transportation routes in Kyrgyzstan, as well as underground gas storage and distribution facilities. Under the General Plan, new facilities will be built to transport gas to the south of the republic and for independent gas service in certain areas of the country. The availability of gas service in the country will increase from 22% to 60% by 2030. The 2015-2017 investment programme of Gazprom Kyrgyzstan will be 35 bln rubles.
