Ex-Kyrgyz Deputy Faces 12 Years in High Security Prison

BISHKEK (24.kg) — The Prosecutor General’s of Kyrgyzstan requested a 12-year sentence for the former deputy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan Muzaffar Isakov.
Suzak District Court continues to consider the case initiated against the former parliament member.
“The court proceeded to hearing of arguments of the parties. The state prosecution asks for Muzaffar Isakov 12 years in prison with confiscation of property and serving the sentence in a penal colony with high security regime. There are nine defendants in the case. The prosecutor asks to imprison them for eight, nine and 12 years”, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
Muzaffar Isakov was accused of corruption. According to investigators, the former parliament member, being the head of Tash-Bulak rural administration, issued 315 illegal decisions on the allocation of agricultural land for individual housing construction.
