China Temporarily Closes the Border with Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK (KirTAG) — Checkpoints on the border of Kyrgyzstan with China will be closed from 22 to 26 August. This was reported by the Public Relations and Mass Media Department of the State Border Service (SBS) of the Kyrgyz Republic on Tuesday.

“At the initiative of the Chinese side, in connection with the celebration of Kurman-ait, the checkpoints Torugart-road and Irkeshtam-road on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border will be temporarily closed from August 22 to 26, 2018”, the message says.

Passage of persons, vehicles and cargo will resume on August 27.
