BISHKEK — The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported that since early 2018, the detected damage to the Kyrgyz state on the initiated criminal cases has been estimated at 1,669.7 bln soms..

According to collected data by SCNS, illegal withdrawal and theft of budget funds amounted to 1,150,545 soms, corresponding to illegal refunding of VAT. At least 95,478 mln soms of this amount were returned to the state budget. The detected damage in other criminal cases was 519,219.9 mln soms.

In the period of January-June of this year, at least 117 criminal cases were instituted on the materials of the SCNS Corruption Control Service. At least 60 of them were corruption-related crimes. SCNS comments:

As a part of the implementation of the decision of the Security Council, the SCNS conducts an inventory of discontinued and suspended criminal cases on misdemeanours and crimes in the economic sphere. Work is underway to reduce the facts of the suspension and termination of criminal cases and the unreasonable delay in the investigation period, as well as study and analysis of suspended criminal cases for the presence of judicial perspective and their further renewal and making a final procedural decision is carried out.
