1/3 of Young Kyrgyz Sees Themselves Abroad within 3 Years

BISHKEK (24.kg) — One-third of the interviewed young Kyrgyz under the age of 24 see themselves in three years abroad.

According to this survey, 52% of respondents answered that they see themselves in Kyrgyzstan in three years, 27% abroad while 19% are still undecided. At the same time, the desire to stay in Kyrgyzstan is higher for respondents older than 24 years.

For a third of respondents, the reason for wanting to go abroad is the desire to travel, followed by education (27%) and work (19%).

For young people between the ages of 14 and 19, the main reason for leaving is study while respondents aged 20 and older want to travel.

These data are presented by M-Report which is a project aimed at gathering through SMS messages, opinions of young people of Kyrgyzstan on important public issues.
