Nevertheless, the Satrapia project calls for a major overhaul. Indeed, the economic conditions created by the pandemic and in particular the fall in oil prices make our development model obsolete. Moreover, the rising tensions in Asia and towards China do not facilitate international cooperation for the creation of our university city.

Notwithstanding this, we will pursue our mission of monitoring Central Asia and will continue to inform our readers about this region in the most relevant way. ■
